Silver Gelatin Archival Fiber Base Print

A Silver Gelatin Fiber Base Print is a black & white photograph printed on fiber base paper, which is coated with gelatin and light sensitive silver salts.  Printed in the traditional darkroom by a master printer with an enlarger, conventional chemistry and trays.  Made by hand, the old fashioned way.

Archival Pigment Ink Print

All prints are made using strictly pigmented inks for unmatched archival longevity and fade resistance.  HP Vivera Pigment Ink and Premium Satin RC Paper (made in Switzerland) is used to create an image that is fade resistant for more than 250 years.  For more information regarding Pigment UV ink longevity please visit www.wilhelm-research.com.

B&W Silver Gelatin Archival Digital Fiber Base Print

All prints are made from medium format 120mm and 35mm black and white film.  The image on the original negative is brought to life on paper by a hybrid digital/photo-chemical printing process.  The traditional negative is scanned on a drum scanner to create a 300 megabyte digital file which serves as a vehicle for the color balancing, lighting, and darkening that was formerly done in the darkroom.  Once the aesthetic interpretation is realized in the computer and matched with the artist proof print created in the traditional "wet" darkroom, the image is then printed on fully archival paper.  The exposure is made using precise lasers exposed onto true photographic paper; the Lambda Printer is unsurpassed in sharpness, color accuracy and detail, and then processed in conventional chemistry.

For B&W Silver Gelatin Archival Digital Fiber Base Prints, Ilford Galerie fibre digital paper is used.  These exquisite custom prints are for the discerning customer who longs for the luminosity, depth and archival quality of Fiber Base Silver Gelatin paper.  As with Traditional Fiber prints, Digital Fiber prints have a longevity of over 200 years.

Limited Edition Print

A Limited Edition Print is one of a stated number of prints of an image in a particular size and in a particular format.  Each print is signed and numbered and once the edition has sold out no further prints will be available.  The limited size of the edition enhances the value of each piece.

Print Pricing Structure

The value of a Limited Edition Print increases, as fewer remain available in that edition.  Kelly Fitzgerald's Limited Edition Prints are sold on a tier structure, increasing in price as the edition sells out.

Mounting and Matting

Each fine art limited edition print includes conservation  mounting and matting (some restrictions apply).  All materials are acid free.  Matted in white 4-ply cotton rag museum board.  The print is attached to the mount board with archival corners - it is not dry mounted.

*Please note:  Does not apply to the larger print sizes 30" x 40" and 40" x 60".

Print Framing

Professional museum standard framing is available for an additional charge.  Please contact us for more information and pricing.

Presentation & Hanging

The environment in which your Limited Edition Print is hung or stored will affect its longevity.  To ensure that the print maintains its archival properties, please keep your Limited Edition Print away from direct sunlight, fluctuating temperatures, above-normal levels of humidity, and strong fumes.  It is highly recommended to have your fine art investment professionally framed and protected behind Tru Vue Conservation glass.
